Born in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Merced, California Pastor David Denson Jr., simply describes himself as, " Just a Country Boy from Texas!"

Upon graduating high school, David Jr joined the US Army where he served for eight years. It was during this time, he accepted the call to ministry at the age of 19. His first pastorate experience was Friendship Baptist Church in Bamberg, Germany for three years.

After leaving the military (1986), Minister Denson joined New Hope Baptist, San Bernadino and was mentored by the late Dr LaMar Foster. In 1992, Dr. Foster sent him to Victorville and he became the Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church. Through Pastor Denson's vision, wisdom and guidance the church grew spiritually and numerically (from 30 members to over 300).

Pastor Denson, served faithfully until the Holy Spirit manifested the vision within him to establish the Burning Bush Baptist Church in October of 1995. This ministry was envisioned, built and has come this far By faith! God enlarged our territory to a beautiful holy edifice of 32,000 square ft. Pastor Denson has taught us, to “Trust Him, where you cannot trace Him!”

In 2001 Dr. Denson received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Tuskegee Pentecostal School of Divinity. In 2010 he earned a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Exodus School of the Bible and in 2015 he received another Honorary Doctor of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian University for his work in kingdom building.

Pastor Denson is also known and very active in the community. He serves on several boards and committees within the high Desert and Inland Empire. As a Transformational Leader, Overseer and Mentor, Pastor Denson is gifted in the development and growing of churches and ministries through the principles in the Word of God. His transparency allows him to “make it live” and meet you where you are in your walk with God.

He is married to his Rib, aka his tall glass of water, Lady Lorrie. They have been married for 23 years and God continually blesses their blended family of 5 children and 11 grandchildren.

Pastor’s life is based on his hope in his favorite scripture; "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth." Psalms 121: 1-2

DDJM MINISTRIES

(David Denson Jr. Ministries)

Pastor and Lorrie are a husband and wife team. Together, they serve a progressive diverse congregation. They minister to the body of Christ as Christ ministers unto them, realizing that by grace they have been saved through faith.

David and Lorrie love God with all their heart. They believe it was by God’s divine favor that they were given another opportunity to have a “godly marriage”. God shows them daily how He will guide and direct their relationship as they allow Him to lead. The Denson’s have been married for over 15 years and are a blended family of five children.

As speakers, David and Lorrie have an honest, transparent, no nonsense approach as they share their testimonies. They believe that their life experiences (good, bad or ugly) should encourage and empower others. They also believe that when God does a new thing in you, you should share it with others, because it was not just you.

Knowing that everything God made is good, they believe that marriage is good. They plan to share the “Good News” of marriage so that Christians will not continue to be significant contributors to the divorce rate statistics.
